Math Pulse of the
Province
By regularly checking the Math Pulse of the Province feature, both teachers
and administrators can view upcoming initiatives
that are planned throughout the province.
- February 23, 2010 - Three Professional Learning Opportunities for
K-12 Mathematics Educators Winter/Spring 2010.
- PRIME Leadership Framework:

A no-cost Adobe Connect Book Study
for mathematics leaders K-12. Six 1.5-hour sessions from March to June.
Enrolment limited to a maximum of 20 (School / board groups (pairs are
encouraged) may work together at the same site ,and would therefore only
submit one registration for the team).
Due to the great response for this program, the current series is now
full. Overflow applications have been moved to a wait list for an
anticipated additional series to be offered later this Spring. Watch here
for further information.
- Building Teachers’ Capacity for Success:
A no-cost Adobe Connect

- The Coaching Journey Continues: A one-day face-to-face session
for teams of five coaches and leaders, with electronic follow-up, offered at
six sites across the province. For educators who co-plan, co-teach and
co-debrief teachers of mathematics K-12.

January 28, 2010 - Professional Learning Manager of the PLMLC
(Professional Learning for Mathematics Leaders and Coaches), Anne Yeager,
reported that 213 educators attended the "Not Just a Three-Part Series"
professional learning series held in London, Sudbury, Ottawa and Burlington
during Fall 2009.
Follow-up sessions for this professional learning series are occurring
during Winter 2010, as well as additional sessions on topics identified as
important by participants. Registration information will be posted
shortly on the EduGAINS website.
January 27, 2010 - Interactive White Boards have been shown
to improve student engagement and achievement. TIPS
lessons incorporating Interactive White Board activities are being
posted regularly on this EduGAINS website. Check Hot Off the Press for the
